I always wondered how a body wash or shower gel is different from a soap. I never used a shower gel in my life, Yes you read it right I NEVER USED A SHOWER GEL IN MY LIFE. I was happy with soaps. But about a month ago I won a giveaway from brand Just Herbs and guess what I got this Just Herbs Shower Gel (with some other products) from them. And I got my answer.
It is not the first time me using a Just herbs product. I have used their Petalsoft anti tan face pack and Aloe vera massage gel. Enough with the chattering now let’s move to the review.
About the Just Herbs Shower Gel: –
This is new launch from Just Herbs and available in 3 variants.
- Shatpatri Wild Indian Rose
- Malabar Lemon Grass
- Kumuda – Sacred Lotus (the one I got)
The product claims that “this product is known for its soothing, calming and mood-uplifting properties, Kumuda or the sacred Indian lotus, used in this mild body wash, finds numerous mentions in ancient Ayurvedic texts. Not only does this serene flower have natural moisture that hydrates the skin imparting it elasticity but also stimulates blood flow bringing about a freshness and liveliness to your complexion. This mild and gentle sulphate and paraben-free body wash also has steam distilled waters of rose, myrrh, and sandalwood that form a harmonious blend to transform your bath into an indulgent rejuvenating ritual.
How To Use:-
Apply on wet skin, work up to lather and rinse with water.
My Take On The Just Herbs Shower Gel:-
It comes in a sturdy, clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser which is really good in quality. The bottle is clear so can see how much product is left. It is quite big so not travel-friendly.
I exactly can’t recall what it smells like but it is really refreshing, calming and very mild. It does transfer on the skin but it is very mild and fades away in around half an hour.
Colour And Consistency: –
It is brownish-orange in colour with a gel-like consistency. It is very easy to lather up and produce very mild foam.
Price And Shelf Life:-
545 ₹ for 200 ml with 3 years of shelf life but you have to finish it within 6 months of opening.

My Experience with the Just Herbs Shower Gel:-
This is the first time I am using a shower gel and I am in love with it. It took me 2 3 days to get the hang of it. I was really impressed with the way my skin felt after using it, It was soft, smooth and glowing. The smell was really soothing and calming. It didn’t dry out my skin, unlike soap. I don’t feel the need of body lotion.
I take 2 pumps of it on my bath sponge and work up to lather It was quite easy to lather it up. It gave a very mild foam, unlike soap. which proves that it is actually sulphate free.
So after using it daily (twice a day), I felt that soap was stripping the essential oils from my skin and making it dry. Unlike soap, it does not strip off the natural oil produced by the skin which is by the way very important to maintain the glowing and healthy skin. It gently cleans your skin leaving no dirt or impurities behind but essential moisture. My skin does not feet greasy at all.
It is quite expensive but when you look at the ingredient list the prize seems reasonable.
